About your trainer:  Stephen Wills, FCIPS, MBA

Steve is a regular speaker at conferences and at corporate events speaking on a diverse range of topics including: sustainability, selling to procurement and the future direction of the profession. He is an experienced commentator and has spoken at national and international conferences as well as having print and broadcast media experience. He comments on Procurement, Supply chain, Purchasing and LOCOG’s contract with G4S. Steve has led a number of leadership debates and was a judge for the Procurement Awards.

Steve runs a Consultancy and Training Practice working with major Global Banks and other clients implementing best practice procurement. Procurement Central provides solutions that remove costs from a business budget making them profitable and more efficient.

Steve has over 30 years’ experience in the purchasing and supply profession, previously Vice President for AXA Financial UK, Head of Supply Chain at Aviva and more recently working for LOCOG at the London 2012 Olympics. Steve has won a number of industry awards including the Global Procurement College recognised for best people training and development by his professional body the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).

In 2005 Steve was awarded the highest honour that his profession (CIPS) can bestow when became a Fellow and he was also awarded ‘Professional of the year ‘. He has sat on the CIPS Board of Management with responsibility for Education. Steve holds an MBA in Strategic Procurement from Birmingham University.

Steve was instrumental in the success of LOCOG’s contract with G4S .Steve joined LOCOG as a Commercial Contract Consultant – Security. Steve led the negotiations resulting in reducing the G4S contracted value from £350m to £256m and he incorporated subsequent penalties that protected Government and the tax payer by reducing the final contract amount further to £171million.
